Shadow in the dark

Most probably, you won’t believe the story which I will tell you. But all of my words are true.
I remember that day, like yesterday.
I was a young man, young and excited... I was studying medicine. And I was going to my family house for Christmas holiday.
It was a dark and cold night. It was snowing. I was alone in the car. I was driving carefully and slowly. There was only car’s lights.
Suddenly, I crashed something. But there was nothing. I stopped the car, got off, took the torch in the glove box. I was afraid.
There was a shadow in front of my car and I was hearing a sound like crying. I held the torch towards the shadow.
There was a woman on the ground. Suddenly she turned toward me. Her head was bleeding. She stood up slowly. “Please help me” she said. I was surprised. I asked “What happened?”
She answered, “A crash… Our car crashed into a tree. My husband is injured. The car is near here. Please come with me.”
I was hesitated. My conscience said “Go with her”, but my mind was shouting, “It may be a trap.” Finally I listened my conscience.
I parked my car at the right of road. I and the woman began walking. Five minutes later I saw that car. It was there. I held the torch to front of the car. There was a man. Most probably the man was the woman’s husband. She said, “He is there. Help him, please.”
I looked at my phone. I was lucky, the phone was working and there was some signal. It was interesting. I called 911. I sent our location. They said, “We may be late, because of the snow.”
They arrived about an hour later. The paramedic came near me. He said “Who is injured?” I showed the man who is in the car.
By the way the woman who asked me help, was with me. I said the paramedic “This lady stopped my car,”
The paramedic looked at me and said “Which lady?”
I realized in terror that nobody couldn’t see the woman, except me!
The woman turned to me slowly, “Thank you for your help” and suddenly she disappeared. The other paramedics shout us “There is a body. I think she’s dead. Next to the car.”
The woman’s soul had done her duty, and she had gone away. The husband survived thanks to his wife.
Sometimes, I see her. She smiles at me. Now I am thinking, if I hadn’t been there that night, the man couldn’t be alive now. There is a reason for everything. Everything…
